Spring Break

I have to thank Paige for this blog. I realized that I still have some events that I haven't blogged about and this is one of them.  However, wonderful Paige blogged about it on her blog so here it is...

Spring Break

Family photo at Zions.

For spring break this year, instead of going somewhere in the cold mountains, we went to St. George. It was much nicer weather there. We stayed in a hotel with a pool and hot tub. Which we gladly took advantage of everyday, except for Wednesday because it rained.

See Hope's purple glove-bandage. She fell on the lava trail and took a big gash out of hand. We spent a few hours a insta-care to have it cleaned an fixed up.  She only cried a little when it happened and then kept on hiking.

On Tuesday we went to the dinosaur museum there. We went to see Brigham Young's winter home, and visiting the St. George temple. That night Braden, Zakk, and I went to see Hunger Games, second time for me, with Zakk's family. It was still marvelous the second time.

Then on Wednesday, we went to Zions, and rode around on a shuttle bus. We also walked along a trail for about 3/4 of a mile.

On Thursday we went to a national park that had a dormant volcano, and saw lots of volcanic rock.

We then packed up and came home Friday.

don't fall over

Yes, it is actually a blog.  I decided that I had better try to catch up the the last 6 months that I just couldn't bring myself to sit down and do it.
The big high lights are...

Paige turned 16 years old and got her drivers license.  She got a car for her birthday. A used Mazda 626.  She wasn't very excited about it until we gave her the car seat and steering wheel covers. Tinker Bell of course.  She then came home from school saying that some guy friends thought her car was cool. So it is now cool, cause guys she likes says so.
She had a party at Classic Skating with some of her school friends- yes, even boys-. It was fun and loud.

Braden Graduated from High School. Oh YES he did!!  Loren and I were both worried about this day.  We wondered if it would ever happen.  Braden has struggled with school most of his schooling. And he received help in English classes since he was in first grade.  Yes, he has a learning disability but most people wouldn't even know it.  He worked hard and kept on track and was able to graduate with his graduating class.
He just turned eighteen and is looking for a job.  He is going to UVUU in the fall.  He has a full year before he goes on a mission, so we will enjoy the time we still have him home.
Braden was in A'capella choir this year and loved it.

Zach is had a Birthday and is now 14.  He is excited about not being a Deacon in church.  He says they are all just so little.  It couldn't have anything to do with the fact that he has grown 4 inches in 4 months and is now taller than Braden.
Zach was in band this year, again.  He has gotten pretty good on the flute.  We went to a few of his concert through out the year.

Ethan is now 11. He had a Stars Wars themed party with a few friends.  I can't believe how much he has grown and matured this last year.
He is excited to be in New Scouts and has already been on a camp out with them.
He enjoys playing games with Parker. And would watch T.v. all day if I let him.

Parker, he is our accident iron child.   He feel off the monkey bars at school 3 weeks before school ended.  I received a phone call from the school BEFORE school had started that day.  The secretary said that he had hurt his arm and it was bad.  I went to pick him up and he didn't even want to move.  Luckily, a neighbor was on her way in to help out a teacher and saw us and volunteered to take Hope for me.  It was a good thing because our MD took w-rays and told us that we had to go to Primary Children's Hospital for surgery. Yes he broke is bone right in half.
We got in the Excursion to head out and it wouldn't back up.  We even said a prayer, and it still wouldn't  move.  I called Loren at work to come get us.  Then called my sister in American Fork to see if she could pick us up and get us home. She did.  Loren meet us a t home and we headed to the hospital-finally.

We had to wait until 9 p.m. that night before they got him in for surgery. They put 3 pins in it. He and I ended up spending the night there.

He has since then gotten the cast removed and is doing excercises to get it to straighten out.

Hope is growing fast and is a very busy girl. She makes one mess after another just so mom has to pick it up. Alright, not really but it seems like it sometimes.
She has decided that she loves to ride horses at Thanksgiving Point. She cried when the ride was over.  She isn't afraid of them at all. She wouldn't let me hold onto her or even walk next to her while on the horse. She told be that she could do it herself.
